German military aka Bundeswehr has had a medium sized booth on gamescom for years. With big machinery that you can sit in (like a tank) and real equipment to look at, manned by actual soldiers who will answer all questions. I've never heard of anyone mkaing an issue out of that, it's just where young people can be reached. Then again german military is more like a career path, that also offers you further education if you want it, idk what possibilities the US military offers.

US military offers pretty decent careers though I am no member I know a lot of service members
