Yeah it sad he died early in the game and for noon#2iLra, he's Johnny Silverhand (or similar to John Wick). I'm on the part of the Mall heist.
Games do often kill off prominent characters in the early stages, and the stage where he dies isn't that early, it's like the end of CH 1.
I think the heightened impact is due to how well he's written, you get some good investment into him, even if he was a walking death flag.

I grew up with guys like Jackie. I knew something like this was gonna happen. This really hit hard. Damn game made me cry...
So you have 2 choices to send his body To his girlfriend or his Mom. So if you choice to send his body to Misty, ictor inform you that Arasaka's guys went to pickup the remain, what about that as a what have they done to him? Maybe turn Jackie as a terminator? Arasaka send him to kill V, that would be fucked up but why not?

Losing Jackie so early into the game was painful asf , they should have kept him until the end he was by far the best character in the game alongside johnny.
