I'm interested to hear what games everyone liked from the 8th gen. My top 4 are Nier Automata, breath of the wild, yakuza 0, and DMC 5

Off the top of my head - Uncharted 4, Uncharted : Lost Legacy, God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Persona 5, Marvel's Spider-Man, Sekiro, Hellblade : Senua's Sacrifice, GTA V.

There are still some more games coming out and games I need to play before I can definitively select one game.

It's gotta be Last of Us 1 & 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Watchdogs 1 & 2, GTA V.

This ended up being such a fantastic gen! I honestly would have trouble narrowing it down to just a few games, or even an order between amazing new games, indies, and remakes of games that I've wanted for years and years.

My list would probably include:

RE2 & RE3 Remake + RE7
Nier Automata
Devil May Cry 5
FF7 Remake Part 1
Rogue Legacy
Witcher 3 **can't remember if it was this gen technically
The Solus Project
Half-Life Alyx
Hitman Reboot 1 & 2
Hellblade
Hollow Knight
Little Nightmares
MGS5
Until Dawn
Bloodborne
Steamworld Series

It is better imo. It's too bad that it's exclusive to nintendo. A native pc version would be amazing.
Yeah, it feels a lot tighter and smoother to move and combo enemies, and more varied weapons and movesets.

I really like the even wilder scenarios too. I hope it gets ported to PC and other consoles, but I don't think that's looking likely because Nintendo bankrolled Bayonetta 2 if I remember correctly because no one else wanted to publish/distribute it (which is all of their loss since it does seem to be in demand outside Nintendo's ecosystem.)

Good choices though I've never played dragon quest 11 do I have to play the others or can I just start with that one.
They are completely independent of one another, there may be some references you don't get but it doesn't take away from the game. In fact, with all of the quality of life perks DQ11 has versus its predecessors, I would argue this may be the best to start with, though this is obviously subjective.

DQ11 is definitely a good place to start :)

They're almost all their own standalone thing I think outside of the original 3 which has a story arc between them I believe.
