As glad as I am that the Prince is back, this is not what I had in mind. Visually, the game looks more like a PS3/360 game than a PS4/XBOX ONE/PC game. A cursory glance at the trailer reveals a bunch of low resolution textures, very bad facial animations, geometry looks basic, and the uncanny valley effect. The game is being developed in India by Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune. Release date is next year, 21st January.

I don't think they can do much in 4 months. I seriously hope they delay the game and give it the proper current gen polish it deserves.

^ More video footage of the game.

people have said it looks like a ps3 game, which is not far off the mark. I loved playing warrior within and the prince game after it back in high school but I didn't like the one that came after that had an auto no-death feature. I was excited when i heard about the remake since I never played the first game. As soon as i saw the graphics, it was sort of a let down. Maybe it'll run well on potato computers šŸ˜‚

The no-death feature was Prince of Persia 2008. They still haven't released the DLC for the game on PC

I was not impressed when I saw this and I really loved Prince of Persia
Same here. This is just Ubisoft trying to measure public interest in a return to the POP franchise. I think even Ubisoft realizes that all these Assassin's Creed games are getting stale and people are sick of them.

They are slowly becoming EA at this point

We really need some new blood in the industry.
Definitely most of these big gaming studios rely on their past success and think simply because it's Ubisoft we'll accept crappy games example with EA and is FIFA or NFL games or even need for speed

i forgot about the newest PoP that came after the 2008 one. I only played 20 minutes of it. It seemed alright but couldn't get into it

Forgotten Sands. I thought the game was pretty darn decent. The platforming was really, really awesome but the combat was really bad. If they had kept the combat from WW or TTT, it'd have been awesome. The story was surprisingly good too. The last platforming challenge in the game where you have to ascend a tower might make you wanna rip your hair off though lol

i think ttt had a tower level near the end iirc. It was sort of enjoyable at the time imo. Hopefully this remake does well enough for a full on ww remake

Sands of Time had a portion towards the end where you have to ascend a tower of sorts and you had to do it perfectly because you weren't able to rewind and undo your mistakes. I had no issues with this but damn, the power switching involved in the last portion of Forgotten Sands...really difficult.

I'd love to see a revival of the Sands of Time style games, even if it's a new series with similar mechanics but a new setting with an emphasis on the platforming.

I'd be happy with a reboot or direct sequel too if they somehow managed to continue from Two Thrones :)
