I know I'm in the minority as a Watch Dogs fan but it was my game of the year. I freakin love Watch Dogs. I'm on my fourth playthrough while taking it very slowly cuz I've played so much of it already. I also really loved Watch Dogs 2. The gameplay was better but I preferred the story in part 1 and part 1 has way better replay value.

Being a huge fan of the Watch Dogs game so far, I cannot wait for Legion. It looks and sounds so awesome. I love the idea of being able to play as any NPC. That is very interesting. It does have me a little worried about how good the story will be like that but I'm sure it'll be cool.

Being able to play any NPC kinda makes me think of Agents of Mayhem. You can't play NPCs in AoM but you have like 15 characters you get to play as and they're all awesome. But you have to have a character loadout of 3 max before going into the game world. I'm very curious how Watch Dogs Legion will handle how many NPCs you can play as. Can you just switch to any at all ever on the fly?

Really can't wait to play it!

I don't remember if it was on the fly, but I'm fairly certain you can switch to any character even without the permadeath. I'm also very hyped for it, yeah.

I'm intrigued by it. Actually, I got into a debate with some coworkers in the library I work for. When it was revealed at E3, people kept telling me "It's going to be graphically downgraded" and I said that it was going to be a cross gen game where the current gen would be downgraded, but the next gen copies would look as good as it did when it was being revealed. Seems I was right.

I am wondering how they're going to limit things. Because I do doubt that you'd be able to recruit just anyone and play any NPC in London. That would be too unwieldy in terms of code and figuring out how that's going to shift things if you recruit someone who is from a group that's considered "the enemy."

I thought the idea of playing any NPC anywhere sounded quite ambitious as well and it's kinda hard to imagine. I think that'd be the first game to ever do something like that. As far as the enemy type, I already have the impression they don't mean we'd take control of the enemy but regular civilians.

I forgot to mention the graphical downgrade thing of part 1. I remember there being a lot of drama about it. I was also disappointed in the misleading representation at E3 but I still absolutely love the game.

Only reason for the graphical downgrade of the first one was because of the surprisingly anemic hardware. So, to make sure they weren't developing two different Watch_Dogs that would get the most out of PC and console, they kind of screwed the PC version over.

But even on Ultra, it still wasn't what they promised in the E3 presentation. And they scaled the PC version back considerably so that the gulf wouldn't be as great between the PC and consoles. The issue for the consoles was the fact that while the GPUs were just great, the Jaguar core CPUs that were in both the PS4 and Xbox One were already being phased out for consumer use in PCs about the time that Watch_Dogs was released. Coupled with that, Watch_Dogs on consoles was also a cross-gen game, which was another issue that caused Ubisoft the need to scale back what they wanted to do with the graphics, even though if you were able to max out the settings it still looked gorgeous.

I just thought of something else. I mean if you're recruiting into your gang and they still have the infiltration/invasion mechanic, how would that be doable? I mean from their perspective, they're still playing as who they are. But if you can find the invading player, you just see some random man/woman on the street. So, if they still have that mechanic, would it be limited to just the NPCs you can't play as yet because you haven't recruited them yet? Or would any character you're not currently playing as be fair game. And if it's the latter, and you can switch to recruited characters on the fly, what happens if you switch to the NPC that they've invaded?

Don't get me wrong. I'm looking forward to the game, but I also really need to hear/see more about how they're implementing things.

The invasion mechanic would just work differently. We don't even know what kind of online gameplay they'll have, if any at all.

Watch Dogs 2 had nothing like the first games online and that was disappointing to me. Also the lack of Digital Trips sucked. I loved the second game but I think the first is better for replay value and content.

It's taking Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis system but applying it to player character instead. I'm happy to see that this system is going be adapted by another company because open world games would see a lot of benefit from it.

I wonder how young we can recruit NPC's because I wanted to make a Children of the Corn group besides doing a all retired group

I was hoping to do something more like a mixture of Assassin's Creed Unity meets V for Vendetta. You do cool stuff or help people in crowd events and eventually you have this army. And the group(s) you're fighting just start shitting bricks.
