Personally, I spent all of this current (last) generation a Playstation guy. The generation prior (360/PS3), I was split. I had the 360 for almost the entire generation, owned the most games on it, 40K gamerscore, etc. I mostly had an Xbox because the online was so. much. better. And I worked for Best Buy back then, and our entire store basically played together on the platform. Towards the end of the generation, I picked up a PS3 for cheap, with a good amount of console exclusives that I missed. For me, Playstation really killed it this last generation. Exclusives were on-point, hardware was great (I had no issues personally), 3rd party support was top-notch, really a great time to have a Playstation.
However...Microsoft seems to have quite a fire underneath them. My personal favorite franchise is Fallout. Now they own Bethesda (Zenimax). This makes things interesting for me, as Obsidian could start making Fallout games again, or anything could happen. I hate Fallout 76, but quite enjoyed Fallout 4 for some perspective. They now have 23 studios under their banner, which could really put a dent into the exclusives market that PS4 was really known for this gen.
Estimates put Xbone at around 5OM units and PS4 at around 114M units. (Microsoft's focus on PC this gen skews these numbers a bit)
Is Xbox poised for a massive comeback this gen? Interesting to think about, I would love to hear some community thoughts.
