Any good zombie games you all recommend?

If you like the Telltale Games format, then the Walking Dead games are good.
There's an indie platformer game called Deadlight which I really liked.
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 is a classic.

Are there any zombie games that let you play as a zombie in story mode? I would love to experience being a slow walking zombie weakling in the beginning and becoming stronger as you consume more and more. You would eventually become the equivalent of the zombie hulk near end game 
Not a zombie game, but Carrion is an indie title where you play as this blob that mutates and becomes stronger as you kill.
oh yeah, i played carrion for a bit. It was pretty good but I'm looking for a triple A experience. I think the prototype games are pretty close except you don't play as a zombie
I do not like Telltale and hated WD TV show. Not into performers either. Thanks though
what about plants vs zombies. I played the first one for like an hour and quit lmao. I also tried plants vs zombies garden warfare for like 10 minutes. Seemed ok but it didn't have a story mode iirc
my friend told me his dad spent like a few days straight beating plants vs zombies for some reason 
not that i can recall. I would assume there are game mods out there that implemented this feature
Just amazed the SyFy channel has yet to start making horrible games. I can see it now "PiranhaBoaLizard"
