Through a tweet last night. https://www.ign.com/articles/xbox-series-x-xbox-series-s-release-date-and-price-reportedly-revealed
It's less powerful as well. So the Xbox one x is like 2.6 teraflops or something and the Series S is around 4 to 8 teraflops while the Series X is around 12 teraflops. I'm to lazy to look up the exact numbers. So the Xbox Series S is just an XSX without a disc drive?
6 Tflops for the Xbox One X, 4 Tflops for the XSS (PS4 Pro has 4.2 Tflops), and 12 Tflops for the XSX.It's less powerful as well. In basic terms it's the difference between the 3070 and the 3080.Xbox fans and their teraflops![]()

Nothing broJust watched the stream. Any idea of when pre-order is going live?
That will be a few months still even after the release date this contest will still be going onNo clue but I won't order the console until this contest is over.
Yeah that was already mentioned earlier. Anyhow just wondering when the preorders are going liveJust confirmed. $499.99 for the standard PS5, $399.99 for the digital. Today's PlayStation showcase.
4 Teraflops, but ultimately, it's also a 1440p machine. 1440p, you don't need higher tflops. Still the same system architecture as the Series X. Same CPU and GPU, just downclocked and with fewer transitors. So you'll still be getting the next-gen experience.. Biggest issue with the Series S is the fact that they cut the SSD storage capacity in half (512 GB instead of 1 TB). So my guess is they're expecting to or at least hoping to make back any losses on the Series S with the proprietary Seagate external SSDs in a big way.6 Tflops for the Xbox One X, 4 Tflops for the XSS (PS4 Pro has 4.2 Tflops), and 12 Tflops for the XSX.
Microsoft essentially shot themselves in the foot. The confusing naming scheme aside, there is zero incentive for the normal gamer to go for the cheaper XSS when they think, "more tflops = better performance".
Word is, possibly tomorrow at select retailers. And if you're preordering through Sony, possibly tomorrow, but it's by invitation.Yeah that was already mentioned earlier. Anyhow just wondering when the preorders are going live
