It's like Vat's but it's two different taxes GST (federal/country wide tax) and PST (Provincial/State tax).
Do you also have a carbon tax? I've seen people on Twitter complaining about carbon tax and stuff like that.

Yes but that is more baked into the prices and doesn't really show up on most things and for me I make money from it because you're supposed to get it back through our tax returns.

Hands down gonna be the worst thing about the new gen is game companies arbitrarily raising prices.
Worst thing so far is how hard it is to pre-order lol personally not phased by slightly higher prices

It's not arbitrary games are expensive to make especially the big aaa games. Unless they figure out a way to fundamentally change the way games are made they will have to keep increasing the price to keep up with size of dev teams.

Maybe for smaller studios but activision? and ea - nope. They make tons of money off of lisceneing, branding and mtcs as is. It's not like the real devs ever see like 99 percent of the money we spend. The real thing companies don't want is to pay the execs 14.5 million instead of 15 million. So instead of actually reorganizing the company they shift the brunt of some ceo's salary onto us. Which sucks.

Activision and EA teams are around 1000 employees per game that's not cheap to maintain for a 3 to 5 year production schedule.

You're right, but those companies are far from strapped for cash. Trying to squeeze more and more money out of consumers is pretty scummy imo especially when your profits more than make up for those costs.
