After streaming on Twitch since 2015, superstar DrDisrespect now faces a permanent channel ban. As of yet, details behind the ban haven't been released.

What's crazy is he still hasn't tweeted about what happened. The last thing he said is that Twitch hasn't even notified him as to why. Surely he must know by now but they can't discuss it?

I never liked him but I'm curious what happened.

Yeah, the most surprising part for me is that this isn't them just banning a popular user on their platform. They banned a guy they signed a massive multi-year, multi-million dollar contract with. It would be akin to a sports team axing their top player without any explanation as to why.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. But this is why there are "Terms of Service."

Thing that's complicated is that there was a bipartisan push to limit marketing toward kids that actually got some legislation successfully off the ground in the late 1990s that are still in effect. Now I'm not saying that his show or what he was presenting on it was geared toward kids. But with the current climate regarding social media, whether it was right or wrong, he could've been made an example for any number of reasons.

Also, as Germaximus noted, the terms of service. That's basically a contract regarding what you can and can't do on a company's platform. If he did something wrong, the platform can have as many strikes as they want. In this case, it was at least two strikes, though we don't know why he was banned yet since no one has spoken up.

I think we might only find out in the future from a "leak." There's no way he doesn't know why he was banned. There's just no way. You do not get permanently banned from a platform for no reason.

Pretty sure you got the right of it, like I said never watched anything out of him, but you don't ban a "superstar" for the fun of it.
