Now may be the time for you to start your journey into the bewildering universe of Final Fantasy XIV Online as the open beta for the PlayStation 5 console version is now available. Players can look forward to a range of new features and additions, including framerate improvements, faster load times, 4K resolution support, DualSense haptic feedback, new trophies, and 3D audio support.
This new version of Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix's popular MMORPG, comes to PS5 offering three different resolutions that the user can choose based on their own preferences and the screen they use to play. Because it makes no sense to choose the highest if then the resolution of the panel is lower. The opposite case is different because the lower the graphic requirement, the higher the rate of photographers per second will be able to display the console.
However, this 5.5 update also marks the launch of the open beta of the PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV which current PS4 players can enjoy through an upgrade at no additional cost if they own the console. New players and owners of PlayStation 5 can also benefit by downloading the free trial version available from PlayStation Store. Moreover, the date of the official launch of the PS5 version will be determined according to the progress of this open beta and will begin immediately after the end of it.
During the Open Beta period, owners of the PS4 version of FFXIV can experience all of the content on PlayStation 5. The worlds (or game servers) you connect to are the same as on PS4 and other platforms. From a functional point of view, there are no restrictions for participants in the Open Beta.
The Open Beta is a precautionary measure, after all, there is already a ton of content for FFXIV. If there are no critical problems, the official operation continues without interruption.
If you haven't played FFXIV on PS4, this is the perfect opportunity to get started on PS5!
The recently announced fourth expansion pack of the Final Fantasy XIV Online saga, Endwalker, is scheduled to release Fall 2021 for PC, Mac, the PlayStation 5 system, and the PlayStation 4 system. Endwalker is the culmination of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story, in which Warriors of Light will encounter an even greater calamity than ever before and will bring an abundance of new content, including multiple new jobs, an increased level cap, vast new areas, adjustments to the battle system, as well as a variety of new battle, crafter, and gatherer content.
Update for free if you have it on PS4
Final Fantasy XIV is in open beta for PS5, but that does not prevent users who have already purchased the game for PS4 from being able to update for free and without any restrictions. They will be able to access the game completely free of charge.
However, if you have never played Final Fantasy XIV and want to do it for the first time, before buying it you should know that until you reach level 60 you can enjoy the free trial version. From there and to continue moving forward, you will have to get hold of the game. Although as an option to see if you like it or not, it's great.
