Ok I know BioWare disappointed us more than once and many don’t have much fate left - but thought it’d be a good place to celebrate what the team has done right. So please choose a paragon dialogue option when replying, lol
Then there’s excitement of upcoming trilogy remaster - no? Hearing it’ll be more than just a graphics improvement , with some new missions that were left on the cutting room floor. I’m hyped, can’t wait!

I wouldn't know what kind of paragon dialogue option to use. :p

I had tried each Mass Effect game, 1 through 3, at separate times. Getting about 5 hours into each and I just could never get further. I found them to be kinda slow and boring. I loved Andromeda. It was the first Mass Effect game I completed. It had some issues but overall I really liked it. I want to see that story continue.

I loved Andromeda so much that it made me wanna go back and give the first three games another try so I did. This time I completed every single one of them and loved them. If it wasn't for my enjoyment of Andromeda, I never would have gone back to them.

Anthem is a really good game. It lacks content after you beat it but if you like the game enough you can get plenty of time out of it. The online hate for it is complete nonsense.

I wouldn't mind if they rebooted the series mainly to take out the Reavers so the stories can just focus on the politics of the different alien races.

Glad you enjoyed the trilogy! ...very interesting about andromeda being the way into the franchise for you. True - all 3 games take awhile to pick up the pace - 1st one keeps you on citadel for several hours, then there’s freedoms progress in #2 - 3rd one got a bit better.

But I found teammates in trilogy a bit more interesting , including romance options. Something didn’t click in andromeda for me. Combat however is way better in MEA, crisp and punchy - loved it!

...if only you could submit completed missions over the “space cellphone” or via quantum entanglement, lol - instead of running back to nexus every single time. The Andromeda Initiative should have hired Samantha Traynor, hahaha.

I loved the series. In a way, I like the way that they streamlined some of the gameplay. And generally speaking the character development and storytelling has been really well done. I think a lot of the failings of Mass Effect 3 and Andromeda were mostly because of EA doing what they do. They go through waves of essentially just sabotaging their own teams through shifting focus, funds, and staff to other projects at really inopportune times while rushing development timelines, which can lead to a completely incoherent design philosophy and story.

One thing that I hope is that for the remastered version of the trilogy, if that comes to pass, is that all of the DLC is included right off the bat. That would get a bit difficult with 3 since there's just so much of it, but let's face it. That was another thing that kind of hurt Mass Effect 3, since some of the DLC that you had to buy separately were legit plot points for the main game, not just addition stuff that you could do.

I wish Doctors never sold it to EA. Karpyshyn mentioned what’s changed in his blog back in February “We were less able to make what we loved, and the teams were pushed to create games based on market research rather than our creative instincts and passions.” Totally different culture indeed.
..however with new owners BW got an access to a better funding. It’s possible that the BW senior team just couldn’t adapt to the EA’s leadership style. ...Respawn seems to be doing alright. Even manages to avoid use of Frostbite engine.

Agree! It would’ve been better off without all that reaper nonsense. Exploring the galaxy at your own pace, getting into politics, building alliances and relationships, upgrading your ship - sounds like a damn nice game to me!

I remember reading that. It's pretty crazy and sad. It's not just EA either, though. It's pretty much every single AAA publisher. That doesn't mean the games are flat out bad, though.

It's kinda like World of Warcraft. That game is nowhere near the same as it was in its first few years but it's still a fun and good game now. But it's definitely run by more greed and you can tell.

Good news today - looks like a book ‘Art of the Mass Effect Trilogy’ can be preordered now - with a Feb 23rd release date. Knowing that EA fiscal ends in March - can we assume that this is also the day when Trilogy Remake will hit the shelves?

Wishful thinking, but it is a good wish.

For sure there’s a little bit of that but on their earnings call at the start of this fiscal they mentioned an unnamed HD remake on the way. And most previous ME games came out in Feb/Mar. Fingers crossed! )))

That is the trend. But there are a lot of things that they could be doing an HD remake of a lot of things. Dragon Age 1&2 for example. Hell, they could be going even further back in their development history with a HD remake of the original Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate 1&2, or Shattered Steel. Regardless of what they do, if EA doesn't screw around, it'll end up delivering.

Loved Neverwinter Nights, spent hours and hours playing it. Good memories. A remaster of it would be fantastic!

You are making me miss the old BG Dark Alliance games 😥

Just looked up Neverwinter Nights and does look like something I would be interested in a sequel of. Anyhow back to Mass Effect. Anyone know of a new sequel or perhaps prequel date?

Bioware is currently focused on getting the next Dragon Age done. They are working on something else but it's early enough that there hasn't been leaks of what it is yet.

Those DA games have some amazing graphics. Was never too fond of the combat system though. Will probably buy it just for graphical indulgence

There is a sequel. It was done by Obsidian Entertainment.
