What did you think of the PS5 conference?

Personally, I was pleased with the games.

I was quite shocked to see that there are some PS5 titles that will also appear on PS4 (Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man : Miles Morales), pleasantly surprised to learn that FF 16 is headed by the folks developing FF 14, the price of the console is at 400-500 dollars.

Sony said they will continue to support the PS4 for a few more years. And from what we've learned about Spider-Man and Horizon, I feel that other PS5 games will make it to PS4 also (this will hold up the next generation graphical "oomph" we all expected). Is it just me or did anybody else get Witcher 3 vibes from FF 16? The graphics looked really similar. God of War : Ragnarok was an absolute blast to hear announced, but no gameplay footage (y u do dis, Cory?).

I'm not surprised that Miles is coming to the PS4 since it's basically a extended standalone expansion of the previous Spiderman game. Horizon Forbidden West is a surprise mostly because of Sony promoting that they believe in generations with console exclusives.

They've stated before that they intend to release their exclusives to other systems. They'll probably keep them exclusive for a good few years to maximize sales on their console before milking it to other system owners for maximum money. It's a win-win for gamers and Sony if you ask me.

It was alright. I was just confused about the stuff that was revealed to be cross-gen. I was also surprised that they waited until the pre-order information was leaked to confirm it. Also confused by the short notice that they gave on the preorders since they said they'd give ample warning for when preorders opened.

Yeah, Sony should have stayed true to their word. Did you pre-order a PS5?

No. I'm planning to get both, but ultimately, I'm starting off the generation by trading up to the Series X. That way I don't lose anything that I've currently got. So I'll be preordering that on Tuesday, in case I don't win one of the Taco Bell giveaway drawings.

Yeah fr, it's always a total crapshoot each year. Honestly I don't even try to get the next gen until a few months after launch.

It was okay. Having Fortnite on their "showcase" for the PS5 is incredibly embarrassing to me. A free-to-play title that has been out for quite awhile shown off as a "launch title." So bad.
